Regarding Classmates.com . . .

What members of CM can do for the AHS Alumni Association:
The better we are able to contact AHS Alumni, the better our reunions will be. Classmates.com has the visibility this site will obviously never have: we are but one school of possibly thousands of schools that CM.com attracts those alumni to.
SO, it will always be a good place to find our own AHS fellow students, and then lead them to this site.

Therefore, for each AHS grad year, we need one paid member of CM for each grad year to become an official CM "Reunion Contact", which does not cost any extra. You will be able to send the occassional message from our schoolmate organizers out to all the classmates in your year (but ONLY your own year) with one easy effort. This is the help we are asking for.

What Happend at Classmates.com that we find disappointing?

They're puttin' on the SQUEZE!! Advertising at CM and members dues gave CM the revenue to purchase ad space on many many sites, as you may have already seen. Paid members had the ability to send email to others from their school. Dues were $25 for 2 years, but just jumped to $30 to join & $20 per year after. Someone at CM hopes to get rich while carelessly killing a formerly good thing!

CM still allows people to register for free, but then took away the bulletin board, email contact and chat priveledges, only allowing the bulleting boards and student lists to be viewed.

Since this change took place February 10, 2001, the bulletin board section has almost no new entries, whereas it was a busy and interesting place prior to that time.
One of our schoolmates forwarded us a CM response to a letter of complaint, and here are two points made by CM in its pathetic response: 1) "Members WANT it that way" (Like they are glad it's now a dead zone?) and 2) "Costly to maintain bulletin board and chat" (Excuse me, they were employing FREE service from Delphi Forums/Prospero, available free to ANYONE!)

We Have Our Own Bulletin Board and Chat Room!

Free messaging and chat for AHS alum is alive and well here in our own site . . . Take this link!
