Help Your Class with its Reunion

The THREE MOST INPORTANT POINTS FOR ANY REUNION:

•Find Everyone
•Find Everyone
•Find Everyone

When to Start Looking For Classmates:
Yesterday
. (Even if your next reunion is several years away!)

Steps For The Search Process:

1) Get or create a complete list, including those who did not attend all 4 years at Agoura. We will post the list in this site. Classmates visit this list, then typically make contact with info or clues.

2) If your class has already had a reunion, help us seek out the holder of the addresses gathered at that time. An amazing percentage of them will still be good.

3) Cajole classmates into helping in the search.

a) The telephone directory is an amazing place to find people! You may wish to contact people with the same last name as your classmate, and may find them because you have reached an aunt, parent or other relative. (For the early years of AHS, we found children of our schoolmates!)
The key to the telephone search is to get classmates in various areas to make calls in their local area. The most popular areas where AHS alumni are to be found are the Simi/Conejo area, the western San Fernando Valley and the Santa Clarita Valley.

b) Internet search facilities are becoming ever-more effective, and volunteers anywhere can help with this. Visit the page featuring Links to Search Sites.

c) The AHS Alumni Association database is available to help you find your classmates through their siblings from other years. We obviously wish to receive your findings for the same reason. A list like you see in this site for other years can be generated from this database and posted in this site for your year also. Ultimately, we would like to see permanent active lists for all grad years posted in the site.

d) There are an increasing number of web sites which invite people to register under their school name. Visit these sites and make contact.

e) With every person you find, be sure to get any information they have on other classmates. Most people have at least one other contact find for you. The AHS Alumni database will cheerfully receive info they may have on schoolmates from other years, as well as for their siblings.

4) Be SURE That a Reunion Happens!

Don’t be afraid to start one, since you don’t have to go searching for a place and caterer if you do not wish to. The AHS Alumni Association has professional contacts which can be called upon to handle yours. (Just don’t depend on them to find all your classmates!)
Either way, your date should be set at least a year ahead of time. Saturday nights are booked far in advance in all banquet facilities. This is especially so for the summer months, when most people expect the reunions to be held.
A date in the fall part of the year can be easier to get and gives more time to find people.
